As a player, OD enjoyed a decorated prep career at Palm Springs High School as a member of two CIF Championship teams and as the CIF Individual Champion.  While a student-athlete at the University of Washington, OD captured Pac-10 medalist honors while leading the Huskies to the team championship as well.  After graduating, the collegiate all-American turned professional and competed on the European Tour, the PGA Tour and played in The Open Championship at Muirfield.

 

OD enjoyed a successful and fulfilling coaching career at the University of Washington, UCLA and Duke University.  He was named Pac-10 Coach of the Year three times and recognized as the 1999 GCAA National Coach of the Year. 

 

OD is humbled and honored to be a Hall of Fame inductee at Palm Springs High School, the University of Washington and the Golf Coaches Association of America.

 

OD and his wife Jana are co-founders of Coachella Coaching and proud parents to daughter Prada and son Phar.

Jana has been an athlete her entire life.  She rose to become a two-time High School state champion in the pool and a league champion on the track.  The US Junior National runner-up and Highline High School Hall of Fame inductee joined her father Earl at Washington where he was the Head Swim Coach for 30 years.  Over Jana’s collegiate career at the UW and Florida, she was an 18-time All-American, set 10 school records and was the NCAA runner-up in the 200 IM.  In addition, Jana was the Pacific Northwest Female Swimmer of the Year, was a member of the USA Swimming National Team and competed in two US Olympic Trails.

 

After graduation, Jana focused her competitive energy into running and coaching.  As a sponsored athlete, she established a personal best 10K time of 35:07.  Jana started her coaching career with her father as an assistant coach at the UW.  While raising her family she was the volunteer assistant at UCLA, Duke University and Pepperdine.  Most recently, Jana was the Interim Head Coach at Pepperdine where she was named the Conference Coach of the Year after leading the Waves to a program best finish.  Jana is currently the Head Girls Swim Coach at Xavier Prep and a certified Life Coach.

Dave is a PGA of America Class “A” Member since 2003.  From Elgin, IL, Dave has been in the Coachella Valley since 1993 and worked at the Jim McLean Golf School, La Quinta CC, Rancho La Quinta, and was most recently the Director of Golf at PGA WEST Private. 

 

He has been the Head Golf Professional at Wilshire CC (Los Angeles) and Illahe Hills CC (Salem, OR).  Previous to that he was the First Assistant at Bel-Air CC (Los Angeles) and has also worked at Bob O'Link GC (Highland Park, IL), Castle Pines CC (CO), and The Club at Cordillera (Vail, CO).

 

Currently Dave is the Head Coach of the Boys Golf team at Xavier College Prep and leads three PGA Junior League teams.
